“I am always amazed at how the firm maintains the same pleasant culture from office to office across the country.”
- Toia Cross, Technology Support Manager, Los Angeles
Getting to know Hogan Lovells
I was referred to Hogan Lovells by a current employee and sought to join the firm because of its friendly and diverse culture.
I also share the same philosophy as the firm regarding client interaction — clients come first. Because the Los Angeles office is smaller than some of the others, our responsibilities as staff members can sometimes fall outside the scope of our normal duties, but we eagerly welcome these opportunities — especially when it comes to meeting the needs of our clients.
I work in a regional office yet I never feel disconnected from my colleagues in other offices. Maintaining communication through technology such as conference calls and video conferences fosters an atmosphere where you don’t look at your peers as just co-workers but as team members.
I have been involved with the firm’s “Friends of Lockwood” volunteer project. I visited Lockwood Elementary School to talk to the students on Career Day about my role in the Information Technology Department at Hogan Lovells. This particular volunteer project stands out to me, because being asked to speak at Lockwood on Career Day made me realize even more that all of us, in our various capacities, are important here at Hogan Lovells.
I am fortunate to work in a department that allows me to travel to other Hogan Lovells offices. I am always amazed at how the firm maintains the same pleasant culture from office to office across the country.
The atmosphere at Hogan Lovells is unique in that everyone maintains a sense a professionalism and respect for one another, no matter how busy we all get. This characteristic is not easy to find among large firms, and I am happy to be a part of such a team. The best example of the firm's friendly atmosphere is the fact that everyone is on a first-name basis — it shows how every person gives and receives the same level of respect.
Toia was drawn to our Los Angeles office because of the firm’s friendly and diverse culture. When not travelling to other offices across the United States, she values having the opportunity to stay connected with her colleagues through telephone and video conferences.
