Getting to know Hogan Lovells

I joined Hogan Lovells two months ago after spending my entire legal career at another firm. Hogan Lovells is looking to expand its Life Sciences practice on the West Coast, and I am excited to be a part of this.

On most days, I spend the majority of my time drafting or revising agreements, usually mixed with a few phone calls to discuss agreements or term sheets with clients or to negotiate agreement provisions with the other side. In most deals, at least one or two negotiations are conducted in person, which usually requires several all-day sessions.

Experience

One of the many things that I enjoy about the Silicon Valley office is that it is a small-but-growing office of a very large, international firm. As a result, while we have access to the resources of a large firm, the atmosphere here feels more like a start-up, and all of the lawyers have an entrepreneurial mindset that works well given our client base.

People

The team of lawyers and staff here in Silicon Valley is working hard to expand Hogan Lovells’ footprint on the West Coast. I have been incredibly impressed by the support that we have received from the firm management, as well as the substantial personal efforts being made by our colleagues on the East Coast to assist us as we build the Silicon Valley office. Everyone that I have spoken to has a genuine interest finding ways to help strengthen my practice.
