"I joined the firm as a lateral associate and have been afforded the tools to advance and grow professionally and have been provided with an excellent platform to expand my practice."

Getting to know Hogan Lovells
Hogan Lovells is serious about promoting inclusiveness and has supported any development idea I have suggested. For example, I have served for many years on the board of the Hispanic National Bar Foundation (HNBF), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization representing Hispanics in the legal profession. Not only has the firm encouraged my involvement, but it has sponsored and hosted events for the organization, including the 2011 HNBF Law Day Camp and HNBF Awards Gala.
I am the Managing Partner of the Miami office and a partner in the International Arbitration (IA) practice. My day is focused on tending to our pending matters and our clients’ needs. In addition, we are always looking to expand and enhance our practice and professional reputations. Our IA team is multilingual and multicultural, and they take ownership of our clients’ disputes and produce first class results. The IA team has regular dinners and lunches to discuss our practice and to learn from each other.
Outside the firm
When I am not working or traveling on behalf of firm clients, I spend time with my family and am very interested in golf and boating. I am good friends with many of my Hogan Lovells colleagues, and we attend events together and sometimes even go on vacation together.
Word to the wise
Hogan Lovells is a great place to build a successful practice. Join us!
My practice focuses primarily on international, cross-border, and commercial litigation and arbitration. I have handled numerous complex commercial international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), and the Society of Maritime Arbitrators of New York.
I graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude, in 1995 and joined Hogan Lovells in 2002 after gaining experience at several law firms.
I have resided in Brazil, Chile, and the Dominican Republic. I also comment on international legal matters in national and international media, and have made numerous televised appearances on CNN En Español.
