Focus

My practice focuses on matters relating to employee benefits and executive compensation.   A significant amount of my time is devoted to the treatment of employee benefits and executive compensation issues in corporate transactions — such as mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings.  I am generally reviewing or drafting plans, agreements, or portions of public filings, and advising or coordinating internally with other lawyers and externally with clients and/or opposing counsel.

Getting to know Hogan Lovells

I chose Hogan Lovells because it not only encourages but exemplifies collegiality and work/life balance. It also provides the opportunity to work on a wide range of significant, interesting, and challenging corporate matters.

Because my practice group is small and has more partners than associates, I worked directly with partners from my first day at the firm.  I have been very fortunate to find several formal and informal partner mentors from whom I am continually learning something new.  My mentors have gone out of their way to contribute to my professional development and to expand my work-related experiences both inside and outside the firm.

Experience

As a specialist on a number of corporate transactions, I consistently collaborate with different corporate teams across Hogan Lovells’ domestic and international offices.  As a result, my work feels very social, and I have gotten to interact with and to know many colleagues I might not have otherwise met.  This interaction and teamwork is part of what I really love about my work.

Also, while I am in a specialized practice group, I have been fortunate to be involved in a wide range of matters across the spectrum of employee benefits and executive compensation and have not had to pigeonhole myself.

Outside the firm

I’m very fortunate to have become great friends with several of my Hogan Lovells colleagues.  From birthday celebrations and sports outings to bowling and wine nights, we make it a point to plan events together outside of the firm.
