"I have participated in three trials with one of the partners in my office and have seen what it takes to be prepared to present a case to a jury."
- Maren Clouse, Counsel, Silicon Valley
I handle litigation and investigations and inquiries. I research and draft briefs, prepare for hearings and court appearances, interview witnesses, respond to opposing counsel, and help coordinate engagements to be sure everything is planned for and is getting done.
I have learned a lot from all the people I work with. In particular, there are many strong writers in these offices. I have participated in three trials with one of the partners and have seen what it takes to be prepared to present a case to a jury. I have learned a lot about client relationships and practical decision-making from another. And yet another has long looked out for my skill development.
We handled some litigation for Apple that relied on our Privacy group in Washington, D.C. It’s a hot topic in Silicon Valley and it was interesting to see our deep expertise in action.
Hogan Lovells is committed to the success of women lawyers. I have been involved in a few women’s initiative projects. There are also several women in the Bay Area offices on part-time schedules, and I find the firm to be as supportive as it can be of those arrangements.
I am a member of the litigation practice and I focus my practice on securities litigation, including officer/director liability claims, derivative suits, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigations, and white collar criminal defense.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, I was an associate at the law firm Heller Ehrman LLP. I am a graduate of Stanford Law School and served as a judicial extern to The Honorable James Ware of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
