My practice focuses on antitrust, competition, and trade regulation, with a particular emphasis on government investigations, litigation, and antitrust policy issues.
Getting to know Hogan Lovells
I came to then Hogan & Hartson as a summer clerk in 1973. I selected the firm because of its excellent practice and reputation, and because it was a great place to work. I enjoyed my summer so much that I accepted my offer to join the firm as an associate over the phone.
Throughout my career, I’ve had many offers to go to other firms, but Hogan Lovells is my home — it’s like family. People genuinely care about one another. I have also developed friendships with many of my clients.
The Antitrust, Competition and Economic Regulation practice, also known internally as ACER, functions as a close-knit team. We have approximately 130 lawyers who do antitrust work in the firm in countries all over the world.
I serve as one of the practice area leaders for the antitrust team. My typical day involves a couple of hours spent on administrative issues, plus multiple phone calls and meetings to address client issues.
I have always been active in the firm’s pro bono work. For many years I was the lead lawyer for ERAmerica, which gave me a chance to work on women’s issues. I take particular pride in our work for Family Matters and Calvary Women’s Services.
I am a co-leader of our Antitrust, Competition, and Economic Regulation practice area. I focus my practice on government investigations, litigation, and antitrust policy issues. I am a Past Chair of the ABA Antitrust Section and provided transition advice on the Federal Trade Commission to the Obama, Bush, and Clinton administrations.
I have been profiled in numerous international surveys and rankings and am widely recognized as a leading authority in antitrust law. I am a frequent speaker on antitrust issues around the globe, and have authored and co-authored many books and articles on the subject.
I am an alumna of the Georgetown University Law Center. My interests outside of the office include spending time with my family and dogs, skiing, golfing, biking, hiking, and traveling, often to Colorado.
