"The range and caliber of the corporate work at Hogan Lovells is unmatched in the D.C. market."

- Brittany Brewer, Associate, Washington, D.C.

I am a member of the Corporate group and practice mostly in mergers and acquisitions and securities. Hogan Lovell’s long-standing history of representing real estate investment trusts (REITs) has positioned the firm as a powerhouse in the REIT market.

Getting to know Hogan Lovells

I was fortunate to be a summer associate at the firm during my 1L and 2L summers and work with an impressive group of aspiring lawyers. My fellow summer associates brought with them depth of knowledge and experience in a remarkable range of subjects, which informed their approach to the summer assignments. I was inspired by the care they applied to the substantive work with which the firm challenged us.

I quickly developed bonds with the summer associates, associates, and partners with whom I worked that extended beyond the workplace and my summer experience. I met their families, attended their housewarming parties, cheered them on at races, and even reunited with them during my travels abroad. When choosing between offers from Hogan Lovells and another firm, my selection was an easy one.

I have enjoyed learning about complex areas of my practice and working with my team to answer the challenging questions that come up every day in this unique area of law. The caliber and size of deals the group handles is impressive and opportunities to take on leadership roles — even at the junior associate level — are plentiful. I recently led a deal closing with minimal partner supervision that, to my relief, went off without a hitch. I look forward to continuing to grow and take more ownership over the transactions on which I am staffed.

Hogan Lovells’ commitment to the training and professional development of its junior associates is comforting, particularly for recent graduates like me who have limited work experience. I met partners during my stint as a summer associate who have taken a deep and long-term interest in my career growth and who have become my sponsors and advocates at the firm. I knew then and am able to more fully appreciate now that the firm’s commitment to attracting, developing, and retaining incredibly talented and dynamic people makes it a truly incredible place to start a legal career.
