"The firm has a wonderful culture and people here are genuinely happy, which translates into positive interactions with each other."

Getting to know Hogan Lovells
Working at Hogan Lovells has far exceeded my expectations. I immensely enjoy the work that I do and the people that I work with every day. On a daily basis, I work across practice groups and across borders on matters that I never could have imagined. My work life is immensely enriching, without sacrificing my family life. I never could have thought this was possible at a large law firm.
I lateralled into the firm as a mid-year associate. It can be a daunting task trying to assimilate into a new firm when the people and the culture are all brand new, especially with a firm as big as Hogan Lovells. But I found that the friendly and open culture at Hogan Lovells made that transition so much easier. The firm has so many opportunities to do things outside of your practice group — training, happy hours, volunteering, pro bono work, committees, etc. — that I was able to quickly become comfortable here.
The senior partner who took me under his wing gets all the credit for making me the attorney that I am today. He was so patient with me over the years and taught me not only the practice of law, but the business of law—both essential elements to succeeding in a legal career. I joke that if I was ever going to write a novel, I would need to dedicate it to him for teaching me how to write!
Outside the firm
I greatly enjoy the autonomy over my schedule that comes from working at Hogan Lovells, I have a fairly routine schedule that has me coming into work and leaving work at about the same time every day. I am home in the evening to have dinner with my family and spend time with my children. I work hard, but I do it while able to put my family's well-being first.
